Team Chat becomes a real page — plus a smarter calendar

Team Chat has grown up:

  • Team Chat — now its own dedicated page instead of a chat drawer, with one shared channel for your whole team, a notification chime for new messages, and an unread badge that follows you around the app. Messages now support emoji reactions, history loads in pages as you scroll back, and old messages can automatically archive on a schedule you control.
  • Calendars — the separate "Upcoming Installs" and "Calendar" pages are now one Calendars view, with a quick switch between every ticket and installs-only.
  • Live Map — stale technician location pins now clear themselves automatically after 12 hours.
  • Mobile polish — a cleaner Team Presence table, a fixed Dispatch Helper picker, and bigger tap targets across the app.

Faster saves, smarter time tracking & map fixes

  • Faster saves — ticket and technician edits now save near-instantly.
  • Time logging — a redesigned entry modal with hours + minutes and a drag-able clock dial, a "This Shift's Logged Time" view for technicians, and a Time Logs overview for admins with date and technician filters.
  • Quote status — tickets can now be set to a new "Quote" status directly from the status dropdown.
  • Map fixes — pins now auto-fit the visible map, geocoding and GPS accuracy improved, and a new "Ping" button lets Admins and Staff request an on-demand location update from any technician's device.
  • Dashboard — tiles can now be resized between Normal and Wide.
  • Contact Support — a built-in "Contact Support" option now emails our team and logs a ticket, right from the app.
  • Also fixed — occasional errors during busy periods, a Google Maps display issue on some accounts, indirect (shop) time entry for Admins and Staff, a rare bug where your Industry Template choice could silently revert, and on-call shifts now default to a full 8am-to-8am window.

Granular permissions, sortable tickets & more

  • Granular permissions — beyond Admin/Staff/Technician roles, you can now fine-tune exactly what each person can see and do — ticket visibility, financials, reports, user management, and more — from a new Permissions Matrix on their profile.
  • Tickets grid — sort by any column (Ticket, Priority, Status, SLA, Assigned, and more), plus new Priority and Assigned Technician filters. Default order is now newest-first.
  • Who's Online — a new Dashboard widget shows which teammates are currently active.
  • Map — a new Live Technician Status panel and ping-freshness visualizer show who's online and how current their location is.
  • Manage Users — the Manage Users screen now uses the full width of your screen instead of a cramped popup.
  • Always up to date — a subtle indicator now lets you know when a new version of RunSheets is ready, with a one-click refresh.

Make RunSheets yours

Every team member with their own login can now personalize how RunSheets looks and works for them:

  • Color Themes — seven curated palettes, including a High Contrast option and three colorblind-friendly palettes, all independently checked against accessibility contrast standards.
  • My Layout Templates — save your preferred screen layout and switch back to it anytime, or share it with the team.
  • Customizable Dashboard — show, hide, and drag-and-drop reorder your stat tiles and charts, then save your layout.
  • Live Team Location Map — an opt-in map overlay showing where your team currently is, right alongside your ticket pins.
  • Deeper Audit Log analytics — ranked activity charts (who's worked, closed, and updated the most tickets), an Important Events feed, and one-click filters.
September 6, 2026 New Module

Expense & financial tracking

A full financial tracking module, built right into RunSheets. Log business expenses and income, set custom or recurring pricing for individual customers, and see revenue, expenses, profit, and margin on a dedicated Financials dashboard with charts for income vs. expenses, spending by category, and recurring vs. one-time revenue — for month-to-date, quarter-to-date, year-to-date, or any custom range.

Smarter dispatch & ticket workflows

A wide batch of workflow improvements: a new Complete status between active work and Closed, color-coded schedule cards on the dispatch board, a full status history on every ticket, an opt-in geofence check that can auto-record a technician's arrival, cleaner ticket layout, multi-role staff accounts, custom ticket status labels, and a one-click Settings save. Customer texting also moved fully onto Twilio, retiring the old carrier email-to-text gateways that mobile carriers are phasing out.

RunSheets Copilot, branded invoices & faster saves

The in-app AI assistant grew into its own dedicated RunSheets Copilot page, with example questions and a running Q&A feed. Invoice emails now show your business's own name and reply-to address instead of a generic label. Creating a new customer is noticeably faster, and a handful of display bugs (dispatch notification phone numbers, ticket contact info) were fixed along the way.

Reports module & on-call schedule calendar

A new Reports section: a summary dashboard, a custom Report Builder with CSV/Excel/PDF export, document upload with AI-assisted analysis, and scheduled report emails (off by default). The on-call schedule manager was also rebuilt with a real month calendar, a "currently on call" banner, and automatic cleanup of old shifts.

Live chat, push alerts & scheduled reports

A live chat widget you can embed on your own public website, feeding straight into a new Live Chats inbox with one-click "Convert to Ticket." Native browser push notifications for urgent tickets, daily and weekly operational email reports, and a Module & Feature Management panel so any of these can be switched on or off per business.

August 26, 2026 New

Individual logins & role-based permissions

Real per-person logins arrived — Admin, Staff, and Technician roles, each seeing exactly what they should. Technicians see only their own assigned tickets; a new Manage Users screen lets an Admin add, edit, and deactivate accounts without ever touching a spreadsheet.
